Gotion
China-based Gotion to invest $2.36B into a new plant in Big Rapids, Michigan.
The plant is expected to create up to 2,350 new jobs and will produce anion and cation materials for EV batteries.
While Gotion has had a presence in the US since 2014, this is its largest move into American production yet.
Our Next Energy (ONE)
ONE is investing $1.6B into its new “gigafactory” in Van Buren Township, near Detroit Metro airport.
ONE’s ambitions are more broad than Gotion - plans for the site include raw material processing with partner 6K Energy, cell and battery production, recycling, and second-life uses.
ONE is also partnering with DTE Energy to be an energy storage facility to improve electric grid stability.
